The framework for crafting a successful business story

Every business needs a story to help it connect with its audience, build loyalty, make it human and real as a brand and help it sell its product or service.

By following a simple, fact, opportunity, feeling and action framework you can build and shape your business story and create something that will connect with your audience.

The following framework uses 4 steps to help you craft a successful and shareable business story:

1. Fact – you want your audience to believe in your business, so your story needs to have a factual element that demonstrates your experience or provides evidence of your expertise or track record as a business

2. Opportunity – your business story must be shareable. It must include an opportunity in it or an element that makes your audience want to share it.

3. Feeling – your story must make your audience feel something. This is the element that will connect your business to your audience. Is the story relatable and human? Will they want to know more?

4. Action – What’s the one thing you want your audience to do when they read your story? What is your call to action? What’s the next step you want them to take?
