Sunday 8 March was International Women’s Day, an important day in the LKB calendar as a female led and owned business, and with 11 out of 12 employees being women. International Women’s Day is an opportunity to celebrate what it is to be a woman and reflect on what more we can do to help accelerate equality for women.
This year’s theme is “Give to Gain”, highlighting the importance of having a generous and collaborative mindset when it comes to creating opportunities for women. The IWD organisation noted that education, training and mentoring were critical in contributing to women’s advancement and helping to create a more supportive and interconnected world.
At LKB, we place great value on learning and developing our professional skills across the whole team, with initiatives such as our quarterly Learning and Professional Development goals, and our Monthly Mentoring Monday. These initiatives are designed to provide a space where every member of the team can offer knowledge and education as well as learn from each other, benefitting the team as a whole.
To help celebrate and reflect on such an important theme, we asked the team to highlight how LKB has contributed to their professional growth:
Lucy Beytagh | Founder & Managing Director
My personal goal is to mentor, nurture and support every woman who walks through the doors of LKB. I want to provide a workplace where they can learn from each other, have access to mentoring from our leaders, and feel comfortable seeking out challenges and opportunities in a safe and supportive environment.
Aran Beytagh | Director, Finance & Operations Manager
Happy International Women’s Day to my amazing colleagues at LKB, our clients and their teams. I’m lucky to work alongside such inspiring and supportive people who help contribute to my professional growth!

Elizabeth Ferguson | Communication & Engagement Manager

Amelia Breen | Brand & Business Manager
LKB has supported my professional growth by creating space to take on new challenges, broaden my skills in brand strategy, engagement and business operations. From the day I started here, our Managing Director, Lucy has made LKB an environment that encourages learning, initiative and continuous development.
Taylah Pobjie | Communication & Engagement Manager
Being part of a team of strong and supportive women at LKB has played a significant role in my professional growth. The mentorship, encouragement and trust I’ve received has helped build my confidence and shape my leadership style, and in turn inspired me to support and mentor others as they develop in their careers.
Ellen Pilkington | Communication & Engagement Consultant
My favourite professional growth activity at LKB, is our Monthly Mentoring Meetings (MMM). I love hearing about what my team members get up in their own trainings, past experiences and professional development. These sessions allow me to explore further industry insights, tips and tricks and skill development.
Chloe Beytagh | Communication & Engagement Consultant
I feel very lucky to be part of a team where our professional growth is always considered a priority. Through regular tracking of our Learning and Professional Development (LPD) goals, I feel confident that I consistently have the opportunity to learn, grow and develop as a communication professional with the support of my team and mentors.
Indiana O’Neill | Project Support
LKB has a wonderful LPD system to track our professional goals. Through the mentoring and management by the amazing women in the team, I have developed professionally, learning many new communication skills to take with me into my future.
