Challenge

LKB was briefed to deliver the Threatened species conservation: Powered by partnerships’ event hosted by the Taronga Zoo Conservation Society. It showcased the NSW Government’s ambitious biodiversity and conservation commitments with industry and their desire to build partnerships with stakeholders.

LKB managed all event delivery requirements, supplier management and attendee correspondence.

A key challenge for the strategy and the event was utilising the Taronga Institute of Science and Learning as a venue space. The building was key to the theme of the day and aligned with purpose of the event. LKB provided advice on the flow of the event, utilising the theatre room as a presentation space, and incorporating interactive activities with the animals and research facilities for the guests to experience.

Strategy

LKB designed and delivered an in-person cocktail event at the Taronga Institute of Science and Learning building at Taronga Zoo Sydney. The event showcased new opportunities to partner with the NSW Government to invest in conservation through programs such as Saving our Species.

Guests heard insights from the then Minister for Environment and Heritage, the Hon James Griffin, participated in a panel discussion with industry experts Rachel Lowry, Chief Conservation Officer, World Wildlife Fund – Australia, Atticus Fleming AM, A/Coordinator-General, Environment and Heritage Group and Cameron Kerr AO, Director and Chief Executive, Taronga Conservation Society Australia. Guests also had the opportunity to participate in interactive conservation related activities facilitated by the zoo.
